As most COAD readers have figured out by now, I live for restaurant openings. Since Chicago has become something of a foodie paradise of late, I’m not quite sure I’ll ever leave.
This summer we are going to be seeing many new openings from familiar faces. The chefs behind Girl & The Goat, Gilt Bar, Blue 13 and other hot spots are returning with fresh takes on the Chicago culinary scene.
Get your comfort food fix at Stout Barrel House and Galley. The recently opened River North resto is rumored to be summer 2012′s “go-to” hangout with 16 unique beers on tap daily. Stephanie Izard’s latest investment, The Little Goat is sure to be a crowd pleaser once its doors open up this fall.

Based on the success of Hub51, Paris Club and RPM, the Melman brothers are at it again with Bub City/Tiki Bar. This new twist on country western is a Chicago first, but as we all know whatever these brothers touch turns to gold. Fast.

Keep your eyes peeled for Boarding House, Piccolo Sogno Due and Belly Q as some of my other forecasted favorites. Happy dining!
